Museum Information

A big thank you to everyone who supported the Museum at Amuse’UM ’08!!

In celebration of the Museum's 5th birthday, Imagine It! hosted Amuse'UM on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Amuse'UM is the Museum's primary fundraising event. Each year, funds are raised through Amuse'UM to support special exhibits and educational programming enjoyed daily by the children of Atlanta at Imagine It! For one night a year at the Museum, Amuse'UM asks Why should kids have all the FUN? and hosts a festive evening on the Museum floor filled with child-like activities, delicious food and cocktails, live music, dancing, and an engaging auction.

Guests not only enjoyed a fantastic evening, but they also made a difference in the lives of Atlanta’s children. Through the generosity of individual donors and corporate sponsors, Amuse’UM 2008 raised $200,000 to directly benefit the educational exhibits and programs at Imagine It! During the “Send a Kid to Camp” portion of the auction, guests contributed the necessary funds to send 45 disadvantaged children to Explorer Camp 2008 at Imagine It! this summer, exceeding last year’s support.

Amy Barnes served as Chair for this year's event and she planned the perfect occasion to support the Museum's efforts to provide a smart place to play for all of Atlanta's children. Radio personality, Bert Weiss of Q100’s The Bert Show (now on 99.7 FM) was the live auctioneer for the event, and he and his wife Stacey Weiss were Honorary Chairs in recognition of their child advocacy work supporting Bert’s Big Adventure.
