Quality Play – NEW!
This new monthly playgroup is perfect for children ages 0-5 and their parents or adult caregivers. Themed around activities that help support children learn through play, Quality Play features early education specialists who facilitate active play, art and imaginative creations, building and construction, and sensory exploration. Produced in partnership with Quality Care for Children of Georgia.
Join us and discover how to support your child's learning through play, receive valuable information about child development, and get great ideas for activities to do with your child at home and at the Museum.
Free with admission, but reservations are required. To reserve your space, please call Joyce Matthews at 404-527-3693.
When: Second Thursday of every month, beginning June 12, 2008

Where: “Leaping into Learning” area at Museum

Keep Your Family Safe Online

Chugga Choo Choo Train
One Week Only! July 26, 2008 – August 3, 2008
Chugga-chugga…Toot toot! Here comes the train around the bend. A giant train set is moving into the Museum and the kids will get to watch the train chug down the track while they press dozens of buttons that bring an exciting circus town to life. The train comes to the Museum through a partnership with North Georgia Tinplate Trackers, a non-profit group of O-Gauge Model Railroaders. Don’t miss your chance to see the train!

11 a.m. Circus Craft: Ringmaster Megaphones You’re the ringmaster today! Now all you need is a magnificent megaphone. You’re in luck, during this craft time you’ll make one of your very own.
12 p.m. Beebo and Ravioli’s Spectacular Circus Step right up! We have to put together a circus and we need your help! Become a part of the show and help Imaginators Beebo and Ravioli put together a spectacular circus. You can be a clown, an acrobat or a circus animal. In this 20-minute original mini-musical, kids let out some laughs while they learn how to be active and make healthy food choices.
1 p.m. Kiddie Clown Boot Camp Kick your fitness into high gear and get in shape with Imaginator Yoyo the Clown. Kids will train like the clowns do while they have fun learning how to exercise.
2 p.m. Circus Scavenger Hunt Join our Imaginators as they search for circus treasures throughout the Museum. Discover healthful treats and master physical feats during this fun and educational hunt.
3 p.m. Read It! Children are encouraged to grab a blanket and delve into the world of books during Read It! This half-hour story time, sponsored by McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, is devoted to fostering literacy and encouraging young children to embrace the magic of books. Kids join a special guest, storyteller, or Ms. Read It! – a colorful, creative storyteller extraordinaire – who arrives with bookmarks in her skirt pockets and an armful of stories.
